STM & Associates Architects has partnered with Smart Buildings, LLC to offer green and sustainable solutions including environmental benchmarking, best practices, planning, design, implementation and continuous improvement.
Smart Buildings, LLC is headed by Mr. James Sinopoli, who has designed and engineered operationally efficient, intuitive and sustainable buildings through an integrated design matrix of building systems and technology. His design work can be found in many building types including healthcare, education, manufacturing, airports and ports, government agencies, commercial office, retail, hospitality, and government across the US, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America and Africa. He has consulted and lectured government organizations, industry associations and Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Sinopoli is a published author for numerous publications including The New Economy Magazine, Green Building Pro and Green Intelligent Buildings. He is an industry advocate granting informative interviews to radio, web, TV and including the London Stock Exchange. Mr. Sinopoli is a contributing editor to Automated Buildings and the Regional Editor for the Intelligent Building Journal, a UK publication. He is the author of two books, Smart Buildings: a Handbook for the Design and Operation of Building Technology Systems (2006) and Smart Buildings Systems for Architects, Owners and Builders (2009). Mr. Sinopoli is a winner of the international “Pfister” award from the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI). His projects have won many awards from industry associations and organizations. He is a multi-year recipient of Realcomm’s “One to Watch”.
Mr. Sinopoli holds a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University and a M.A. in Environmental Management from Governor's State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, a Registered Communications Distribution Designer, and a LEED Accredited Professional. He is a registered Continuing Education Provider for AIA and GBCI. Mr. Sinopoli is Chairmen of the Continental Automation Buildings Association’s Task Force on Industry Training and Education. He is also Board of Directors Chairman of the Smart Buildings.
